A busy few months

I’m rather ashamed that this is my first post of 2015 – this year is speeding by!

This time last year I was over half way through my stay in Alicante and I was working hard collecting data from my fieldwork respondents.  At the time it seemed as though I was very busy carrying out what I considered to be the most important part of my PhD project. Yet, it was only once I began analysing my data, teasing out research themes and moulding them into ‘mini chapters’ that I really began to see my thesis taking shape. This has been the main task this academic year (the 3rd year of my PhD).  So far I have developed three ‘mini chapters’ on emerging themes from my data . Obviously these are only initial drafts which will require plenty of editing in the coming months but it is rewarding to finally have lots of words as evidence of the hard work so far!
